Phone Car on the Way to Burning Man
So the other day i was near route 66 and there was this crazy little red phone car being towed behind a truck. i remember thinking "odd never seen a phone car before" haha. Then tonight i'm reading random articles on wired.com, and suddenly i come across this thing on burning man... how crazy is this? apparently on the way to the festival this guy drove through flagstaff and right in front of crystal magic where i work, JUST when i happened to be crossing the street haha!

Solfeggio Frequency Meditation
so I was traveling around online as usual last night and i came across these "solfeggio frequency" meditation videos. solfeggio is what you would probably know as the "do re mi" scale of sound. I read that in the old ancient Gregorian temples they would chant these specific frequencies because of their ability to transfer spiritual blessings..
certainly worth at least a look and listen..
the above video presents the freq. 528hz which is supposed to repair your DNA

x0xb0x listy.
x0xb0x = Synth + Sequencer
"The x0xb0x is not just another MIDI-controlled TB-303 clone. x0xb0x is a full reproduction of the original Roland synthesizer, with fully functional sequencer. The sequencer can be programmed just like the original 303 (ok its actually a little easier, we think) and can be used to control other synthesizers via any of its various output formats. 128 banks of track memory and 64 banks of pattern memory are stored in onboard EEPROM, no battery-backup is needed!"
so im officially on the list now to get one of these bad boys....should be about 5-7 months wait, but its totally worth it. once i have completed building this thing i will have a perfect replica of the original roland tb 303, how sweet is that?? It is going to be a lot of soldering, which i still gotta practice a bit before im ready to take on such a tedious project.10.14.2007

my next toy: MPC 1000
so after thinking long and hard about what piece of gear im going to pick up next, i finally decided to get a mpc 1000. i had always been interested in using a mpc since i heard dj shadow's endtroducing album back sometime around 97. i had no clue at that time what was used to do such things but i wanted to do it myself!
mpc's always popped up, a few of my buddies used them to make hip hop beats and what not back in orlando. it has just a great vibe to it, its like a collage maker for sounds haha.
anyways, a friend of mine here in town was talking to me and was just like "if you are going to get one thing, get a mpc 1000" haha. it was the final nail in the coffin. so now i've begun the long process of saving up enough cash to get this bad boy...which is probably going to run me somewhere from like 699-900 dollars! $@#%$*!!
i was a bit concerned about the fact that this is the only mpc model that doesnt feature the classic soft touch pads. i even gave up on the model and felt like i should just settle for a mpc 2000xl. but then i found through youtube, that you can replace the pads with the much better soft velocity sensitive pads! this model is like a smaller version of the 2000xl with better computer functionality (a must for my studio since im currently entirely pc based), and with the pads its going to be great! if my calculations are correct i should be able to possibly get one by jan or feb. sheesh. i hate waiting lol i just wanna go and get one!
heres a video of the installation of the much better pads into the mpc 1000!

augmented sculpture project
quote from youtube:
created by Pablo Valbuena, it mixes a "volumetric base that serves as support for a second level, a virtual projected layer that allows controlling the transformation and sequentiality of space-time."

the hang drum
wow. so i was randomly surfing around on youtube and i found some videos about this AMAZING piece of musical artwork...
PANArt, a two man company hand makes these things and let me tell you that they are crazy to see in action. i want one. haha but i might just settle for the samples available through a company online. thats because the inventors are still the ones hand making these things, and there is like a two year waiting list if they even decide to make one for you! plus its about 1500 dollars! ahh! they need to start making these things in surplus its great!

shocking....photographic work of chris jordan
Depicts two million plastic beverage bottles, the number used in the US every five minutes.
So i was wondering about online today, and i happened to look through a few of the links on Radiohead's website (which is also great by the way), I'm always trying to locate a new piece of good information ya know...wherever the source might come from!
Radiohead is very active in projecting environmental awareness about our planet, which is a un-addressed issue by many of us in the world today unfortunately...seeing as it kills us as the human race! global warming is a real thing!!! our children will see this problem in their lifetime....we will see this in our lifetime, and the consequences of it are truly dire!
the Earth is truly a lot like us....and we are like the flu to the earth....hurricane Katrina? truly a tragedy that many of us felt, imagine this in vast levels, imagine the earth getting a "fever" and slowly destroying itself, and us along with it.....and its our faults, we breed and breed and grow as a society, and make so much waste that its overwhelming for the world.... especially us as Americans! SORRY, *PHEW* but we waste without hesitation, remorse, understanding of what we do...chris jordan's photographic work truly puts it into perspective in a way maybe more of us can understand......we hear statistics rattled off all the time, and no one pays mind to them....because these numbers of waste are so huge....take a look at this and let it impact you in a positive way!

my equipment...its sad i know.
well for the curious (and my own personal masturbatory desires...sorry i know im a little creepy) i have decided to add a list of my scarce studio beginnings as of current...i seriously need money! along with the major items (new interface, ram, midi cables etc.) i really am desiring a korg ms-20, a yamaha an1x, a akai mpc 1000, a decent turntable, a unicorn, and two gallons of malt liquor.....anybody? anyways heres the list of current lovelies enjoy folks!
akai ax-60 - polyphonic 61 key analog synth/sonic eardrum sodomizer ...the neighbors love it
akai s900 - classic low bit slow as snails sampler. great addition to the noisemonster above, also dr. dre used it..now i rock
korg poly-800 - i could seriously do the soundtrack to short circuit 3 with this crap box!
acoustic guitar- unknown brand, basically starting point for most of my ideas, my baby
fender strat- going to the shop soon for upgrades, pickups, a few minor re-wirings
frostwave resonator (glorious ms-20 filter clone)- if you twist the knobs just right....it'll make you soil your pants..in a good way.
dell dimension 2350 2.2ghz 1gig rm 30gig hd- upgrade someone?! haha i'm surprised i can get more than 1 track of atari bleeps outta this thing, although that wouldn't entirely be a bad thing

can i just say how badly i want one of these damn things?! if only one would pop up sometime with a decent price on ebay....i love the idea of being able to record panning and other such things into your patches....and it sounds like castlevania.....enough said.
